Thousands are saved in Mitiyana Uganda

We were so blessed to be invited to Mitiyana, Uganda in May 2006. We have returned rejoicing in all that God has done. The small town of 10,000 has been completly turned "up side down" with miracles, healings and multitudes coming to Christ. View the whole report here...

Our week in Mityana, Uganda, has been a truly memorable one, full of the Presence and power of God! From the first time that Pastor Robert Miponye  wrote to us asking us to come and help the leaders of his district to return to their first-love , and put the Cross of Christ back at the centre of the ministry, we knew this was going to be a powerful and significant mission. From the very first day when churches came together in a march of celebration through the town to announce the mission and declare the Presence of the Kingdom of God , the atmosphere was filled with a sense of expectation and some of the team joined the march, proclaiming the Gospel at the end of it from the back of a lorry …around 300 people gave their lives to Christ as Steve gave the appeal for salvation…and the mission hadn’t even begun !

We started the Pastors conference on the Tuesday morning , having had a powerful time of prayer as a team . There were 1,300 leaders  who came together for this conference entitled “the Kingdom is here !” and day after day as different members of the team addressed various areas of Kingdom life and ministry the Holy Spirit fell in power ,and healings, deliverances and gifts of the Spirit abounded. In the very first session there were 15 deaf ears opened, about eight blinded eyes opened, and about four growths that disappeared off people’s bodies . The Kingdom of God was powerfully amongst us! The work of the Holy Spirit in bringing the Church into a place of real unity was also very evident. Robert and the leaders around him (all from different churches/denominations) worked together with a genuine oneness of heart and mutual respect. They testified repeatedly that this had never happened before in the history of Mityana, even though such unity had been attempted on many occasions. However, having to walk together in the vision laid out for them by the ministry had clearly provided a framework that the Lord had evidently used to bring about a real change of heart and a much wider vision for the Kingdom of God.

It was an awesome experience to see how the Lord affected every area of life in Mityana through this mission and conference…salvation literally “hit” the community…the chief magistrate in the area was saved, 25 police officers and 100 prisoners gave their lives to Christ (left)…doctors, nurses, patients in the hospital, lots of people on the streets daily surrendering their lives to Jesus ! The “top” witchdoctor in the area, who had previously threatened the pastors and the team that he was sending demons against us and would stop the mission from happening came and fell on his knees in repentance at the front of the stage when the appeal for salvation was given and wept in surrender to Jesus with his arms raised to heaven for 40 minutes while he and around 30 others were powerfully delivered from demons in front of everyone , and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. Another night a well-known thief came repenting and confessing his deeds , and brought the things he had stolen to the mission site and surrendered them as evidence of taking the first steps towards restitution. Miracles of healing abounded…one man who had a tumor on his stomach (about the size of a rugby ball), and was due for an operation, was instantly healed as the team prayed for him, and the tumor disappeared. He returned to testify the following night after having received medical confirmation of the miracle and notice that his operation would now be cancelled ! Blind saw, deaf heard, mute spoke….The Kingdom of God had come to Mityana !

All this is a but a “snip” of the events that surrounded this powerful mission trip. We want to say a heart-felt “thank you” for those who have stood with us prayerfully and financially for this event…you will share in the eternal rewards of this awesome breakthrough in Uganda.

Please continue to pray for us as we seek the Lord for the best way to move forward from this point now in assisting the churches in Mityana district and the surrounding districts that sent their leaders for training in the conference.
